A city that is still playing catch-up with it's bigger neighbours of Budapest, Prague and especially Vienna. Still it has a raw charm that only becomes apparent after a day or so. The old city is tiny in comparisons to it's neighbours. It was the first city that scared me upon arrival, at the train station nobody spoke english and I was receiving some unwelcome attention. If you are there take a stroll (by day!) across the bridge to the concreet jungle left from the soviet years..
