I sailed from the harbour near the "big Buddah". The ferry was "retired" from japan 15 years ago for being unsafe. It was purchased by a thai company and has been in service. It was a floating bucket of rust. I located the lifejackets and sat on the top deck. I arrived on the weekend of the full moon party on ko phangan, but decided it was not for me and moved on to Ko Tao. The highlight was a dive I did on the "Chumphon Pinnacles" there I came across 4 reef sharks and a black tip , they were hanging out at the base of the pinacles and were circling about near me for about 10 min. I also ran into a sea snake.
